Brady Benefits/Pioneer Golf Classic Tournament for YMCA Strong Kids
Exchange – Fall 2011
The 10th Anniversary Brady Benefits/Pioneer Golf Classic Tournament netted $130,000 for the YMCA Strong Kids campaign. Strong Kids is an annual campaign that raises financial support for children, youth and families who are unable to afford the full cost of YMCA programs. The event, held on September 13th, 2011 at Carlisle Golf & Country Club, was capped with an evening performance of Phantom of the Opera’s Music of the Night by Canadian Tenor Michael Burgess.
“Pioneer has been exemplary in its support of children and youth in our programs across the region for many years,” said Jim Commerford, President & CEO, YMCA of Hamilton/Burlington/Brantford. More than 1,000 children will be able to participate in YMCA programs as a result of the proceeds of this tournament this year.
Since 1991 the tournament has raised $590,000, which has given almost 4,000 children a positive YMCA experience that they otherwise would not have.
